We're a group of Kansas City area collectors that fell in love with comics and collectibles at a young age. Since seeing our first Star Wars movie to picking up the release of Chris Claremont and Jim Lee's X-Men #1 relaunch, to cracking that first pack of the Highlander TCG, we have been hooked. For three decades we've been chasing down key issues, digging through long boxes, and testing every card game we could get our hands' on.
It started in 1994 with a long box of hand-me-down Marvels and a subscription to Wizard Magazine. What began as a hobby turned into an obsession — pulling keys, hunting variants, and learning that condition really does matter more than anything else.
By the early 2000s we had graduated from casual collecting and began building inventory. Either we downsized the collection, or we turned it into something. We chose the latter. The Silver Age Comics & Collectibles was born out of a genuine love for the medium and a belief that collectors deserve a shop run by collectors.
The collecting itch didn't stop at comics. After opening that first pack of Middle Earth CCG, we were hooked on CCGs, growing a massive collection of Middle Earth, Decipher's Star Wars, Vs System, Highlander, Lord of the Rings and more.
Today we carry vintage and modern comics, action figures, RPGs, board games and a rotating selection of singles and sealed product from some of the biggest names in collectible card gaming — Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars Unlimited, and more.
We've seen too many shops stretch a VF to NM. We won't. Our grades are honest, our descriptions are thorough, and we'll always show you the flaws.
We're collectors talking to collectors. We know what it means to finally land that book you've been hunting for years — and we want to make that moment better.
The Silver Age is more than a store. We support local comic runs, attend shows, and try to be a resource for anyone picking up the hobby for the first time.
We're based in Overland Park, Kansas — right in the heart of the KC metro. Our online store ships nationwide, but local pickups and in-person appraisals are always welcome.
